Welcome to the Division of Information Technology at Central Connecticut State University (Central). As Vice President for Technology & Strategic Initiatives, I am proud to lead a talented, service-driven team focused on strengthening the digital foundation of our campus and advancing the success of the students, faculty, and staff we serve.
Our mission is straightforward: deliver innovative, secure, and reliable technology paired with responsive support and strong partnerships so our community can teach, learn, research, and work at their best. In today's rapidly evolving environment, information technology is not simply a set of tools behind the scenes; it is a strategic enabler of academic excellence, operational effectiveness, and meaningful community enhancement.
In 2025, President Toro integrated the Central Applied Learning and Industry Corridor (CALIC) into our division, expanding our work beyond traditional IT in a way that aligns with Central's next chapter. We are excited to support the University's growth in workforce development through the Department of Professional Education, the Office of Career & Professional Development, and the technology, innovation, and workforce readiness that go hand in hand.
As a result, our division is designed not only to serve the campus, but also to help Central deepen its impact across Connecticut and the region. We are building capacity and partnerships in areas that matter most to today's economy's artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0 while keeping our focus grounded in student opportunity, faculty empowerment, and institutional resilience.
