Sommers receives Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award

Dr. Brian Sommers, a professor in the Department of Geography, Anthropology, and Tourism at Central Connecticut State University, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to the Slovak Republic for the 2025–2026 academic year. 

Sommers will spend the spring semester of 2026 in Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, engaging in teaching and research that promote international collaboration and cultural exchange. He will contribute his expertise in community development and urban planning, while building connections that will benefit both Slovak colleagues and Central students upon his return.
