Police officers sign up elf duty

The Central Connecticut State University Police Department conducted its annual Stuff-a-Cruiser event on Dec. 7. Organized by Sergeant Robert Varasconi, officers parked a cruiser at CVS on West Main Street in New Britain where they collected dozens of donations, which later filled the police department lobby. The toys will be distributed to children in New Britain in partnership with the Community Services Department.

"It’s all about making a child happy who otherwise would not have hope," said Varasconi, who thanked Chief Grant, Lt. Homestead, and Officer Roy for their support of the event.
