Cynthia Mena

Cynthia Mena serves as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising for the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Central Connecticut State University, where she supports pre-nursing students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

A proud first-generation college graduate and New Britain native, Cynthia’s personal and professional journey is deeply connected to higher education. She is a double alumna of Central Connecticut State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Student Development in Higher Education.

Cynthia’s advising philosophy is grounded in creating meaningful connections with students, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and supported throughout their college journey. She believes in meeting students where they are, empowering them to take ownership of their academic path, and reminding them that while their journey is their own, they never have to navigate it alone.

Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
