About Microsoft 365 at Central

Microsoft 365 (M365) is a suite of cloud-based applications that supports teaching, learning, communication, and collaboration across the university. With tools such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot Chat, students, faculty, and staff can securely connect, share information, and work together from any location.

 

 

There are several levels of licensing:

  • While you are an active student or active employee, your account is assigned a full license that includes the ability to download Office onto personally-owned computers.
  • Students: Two years after graduation (or your last class completed), your account will be deactivated.
  • Employees: upon separation from the university, your account will be disabled unless you are granted Emeritus status.

Popular Microsoft 365 apps at Central:

  • Office Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Create, edit, and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations from any device. 
  • Outlook - Manage your university email, calendar, contacts, and tasks in one place.
  • Teams - Chat, meet, call, and collaborate with colleagues, students, and campus groups.
  • OneDrive - Securely store, access, and share your files from anywhere with cloud-based storage.
  • Bookings - Schedule appointments and meetings with others using an easy-to-use online booking system (for faculty/staff only).

You may access these apps directly on a campus computer, or online via https://office.ccsu.edu. Log in with your Central Microsoft 365 email address and associated password (click here for details on your account).

Access to your Microsoft 365 account is protected by multi-factor authentication (MFA or 2-factor authentication), especially using the Microsoft Authenticator app. Click here for more information on MFA.
