Welcome, Transfer Students!
Congratulations on your acceptance to Central Connecticut State University—we're excited to welcome you to the School of Education community!
If you're transferring into one of our Teacher Preparation programs (Elementary, Secondary, or All-Level Education) or the Early Childhood Studies program, your journey begins with the School of Education Advising Center.
As a new transfer student, you'll complete a required one-on-one personalized transfer advising appointment with our School of Education Advising Center advisor. During this meeting, we'll:
- Review your transfer credits and explain how they apply to your degree.
- Discuss your degree requirements and remaining coursework.
- Review any remaining General Education requirements.
- Show you how to register for classes and build your semester schedule.
- Introduce you to important teacher preparation milestones, including admission to the Teacher Preparation Program, field experiences, and student teaching.
- Answer your questions and connect you with campus resources to help you succeed.
Our goal is to make your transition to Central as smooth as possible so you feel confident, informed, and ready to begin your first semester. We'll help you understand your academic roadmap and ensure you have everything you need to stay on track toward earning your degree and future teaching certification.
