First Year Students

Welcome, New First-Year Students!

Congratulations on your acceptance to Central Connecticut State University! We're excited to welcome you to the School of Education and can't wait to help you begin your journey toward becoming an educator.

What's Next?

Once you've decided to attend Central and have submitted your $200 enrollment confirmation deposit, the Office of New Student Programming will contact you through your CCSU email with everything you need to know about your next steps.

Complete Your Academic Profile

Before orientation, you'll be asked to complete an Academic Profile. This profile gives your academic advisor the opportunity to learn more about you, your academic interests, and your goals. The information you provide will help your advisor create a first-semester schedule that sets you up for success from day one.

Attend New Student Orientation

During the summer, you'll attend New Student Orientation, where you'll meet fellow Blue Devils, explore campus, and connect with your academic advisor.

During this specific portion of your orientation program you will:

  • Receive your first-semester class schedule.
  • Learn about your degree program and teacher preparation pathway.
  • Review Central's General Education requirements.
  • Learn how to read your schedule and make schedule adjustments, if needed.
  • Discover the many campus resources available to help you succeed academically and personally.

Stay Connected

The Office of New Student Programming will guide you through each step of the onboarding process, so you won't have to figure it out on your own. Be sure to check your CCSU email regularly, as that's where you'll receive important updates about orientation, advising, registration, and other next steps.

We're excited to welcome you to the School of Education and look forward to helping you start your Central experience with confidence.

See you soon!

Sincerely,

The School of Education Dean’s Office and

The School of Education Advising Center
