Central professor Jeff Teitler earned a regional Emmy Award at the 48th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards on June 7 for his work on “New England Ballet Theatre – Kinetic Reel.” The award for excellence in Audio Recording, Mixing and Design – Live was among several awards Teitler received during this year's ceremony.
Created in collaboration with New England Ballet Theatre of Connecticut, the film follows dancers onstage and behind the scenes, placing special emphasis on the natural sounds they create through their movements.
A professor of Production and Performance Studies at Central, Teitler serves as artistic director of Envision Films, an independent production company specializing in documentary and performance films that explore a wide range of subjects and artistic disciplines. Teitler donated his production services to the project in support of the university's ongoing commitment to community engagement.
“We are incredibly honored to have collaborated with Professor Jeff Teitler on this project and thrilled to see his work recognized with an Emmy Award,” says Rachael Gnatowski, artistic and executive director of New England Ballet Theatre. “Partnerships like this exemplify the power of collaboration between higher education and the arts, creating meaningful opportunities for students, artists, and the community alike. We are grateful for Central’s continued support of New England Ballet Theatre and proud to celebrate this well-deserved achievement with Professor Teitler.”
