Biography

Dr. Viktoria Savatorova is an applied mathematician whose research focuses on mathematical modeling, differential equations, dynamical systems, and multiscale methods. She is the author or co-author of more than 40 scholarly publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book chapters. Her research encompasses the multiscale modeling of physical processes in heterogeneous and porous media and applications of differential equations to problems arising in the physical, engineering, biological, and ecological sciences. At Central, Dr. Savatorova integrates research and teaching by mentoring undergraduate students in interdisciplinary modeling projects. Several of these projects have resulted in student co-authored publications and conference presentations. She is also committed to expanding opportunities for students through career-preparation activities, partnerships with community organizations, and STEM outreach programs.
