Research

Dr. Westcott studies the relationship between molecular and electronic structures of metal complexes. Subtle changes to the periphery of organic ligands can have substantial effects on the properties at a metal site. Dr. Westcott and his students determine molecular structures through X-ray crystallography and study electronic and magnetic properties properties using a variety of spectroscopic techniques.
