Ebenezer D. Bassett Student Achievement Award

"We want to challenge unhealthy images of college men by showcasing men who exemplify acceptable standards of conduct and virtue."

During the spring of each year, the HEALTHYfellows Brotherhood Initiative Alumni Committee annually honors exceptional CCSU undergraduate and graduate male students. The Ebenezer D. Bassett Student Achievement Awards celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of college men who have made healthy and meaningful contributions to society. These awards expand the definition of student success by highlighting personal attributes that support men's health, retention, and graduation.

The Ebenezer D. Bassett Student Achievement Lapel Pin and the Legacy Medal are two distinguished recognitions given out at the ceremony. The “Bassett” and Legacy Medal” are presented to male students who exemplify Ebenezer D. Bassett's Legacy Virtues. A third award, Bassett Scholarship is also presented annually by the Ebenezer D. Bassett Memorialization Committee The event is proudly hosted by the Brotherhood Initiative.

CCSU faculty, staff, students, administrators, and/or the general public are invited to nominate students who meet the criteria presented in the Nomination Form.
