Miller named Paul Schlickmann the
new Director of Athletics early
in April. Schlickmann comes to New
Britain from Stony Brook University,
where he was the Executive Associate

Campus

|
CCSU students
received a number of awards
recently, as did the University
itself, which was selected
by Princeton Review as one
of 286 “Green Colleges”
in the nation. CCSU was
identified as an “exemplary
Green institution.”
Theatre major Gabbi Mendelsohn
received the national award
for directing at the Kennedy
Center American College
Theatre Festival in DC (think
of it as an Oscar) for directing
a play she cowrote with
Marissa Ann Grande.

Marketing major Samantha
Magri won the Personal Venture
Division of the Spring 2010
Connecticut Collegiate Business
Plan Competition ($1,000);
she also won the state-wide
Elevator Pitch Competition
for a Personal Venture ($500).
Mechanical Engineering student
Tim Maver won the overall
award for top engineering
paper at the American Society
of Mechanical Engineers
(ASME) student paper competition.
Fourteen engineering students
competed in the 17th Annual
Great Moonbuggy Race, held
at the US Space & Rocket
Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

the CCSU Moonbuggy to 7th
place out of 54 teams drawn
from around the nation.
