Banner 8 Print Queue Names
If you use a Banner print queue to print items such as schedules, bills or unofficial transcripts, your Banner print queue name will be changing as a result of the upgrade. Your new Banner print queue will have the same name as your network print queue (ex: PRN-085851-HP-LJ-2200). To locate your print queue, please look for the white sticker or white information card attached to your printer. On a Windows computer, you may also view your print queue name by clicking on Start/Printers and Faxes.
You will only have one Banner print queue in Banner 8. There is one exception to this, and that is where an office prints a “schedule/bill” format – you will have two print queues and one will have “SB” at the end to indicate it prints the “schedule/bill” format (ex: PRN-085851-HP-LJ-2200-SB).
How the Banner 8 Print Queues differ from Banner 7 Print Queues
In Banner 7, each Banner print queue had 3 names (ex: c_hb019ita1, c_hb019ita2, c_hb019ita3) where the last part of the name (a1, a2 or a3) refers to printer orientation (portrait, landscape, small landscape). In the new setup, there will be only one print queue name, which is the same as the printer’s network name (ex: PRN-085851-HP-LJ-2200) and the orientation is programmed into the print queue name.
Banner 8 Print button/Screen Print
In Banner 8, the Print button or File/Print command still functions as a screen print only.
