Please leave your Windows computers turned ON overnight Monday September 16th
The IT department needs to make sure all computers are restarted on a regular basis in order to ensure security updates are properly applied. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, a mandatory reboot command will be issued at 3:00am. On Monday September 16th, please log off your computer but do not power it off. This will allow the patches to be sent down to your computer Monday night and then applied Tuesday morning. If you turn your computer off, shortly after turning it on Tuesday, your computer will restart in order to apply these updates
Social Sciences Hall – Turning Off Multimedia Stations
A reminder for those teaching in Social Sciences Hall classrooms, please select the red System Off button on the TouchLink controller (see image below) before leaving your classroom. The System Off function will do all of this, and more, to ready the room for the next instructor.
If you do encounter any issues in any classroom, please contact the IT Help Desk immediately. No phone available? Use the chat support feature on the computer, look for the orange shortcut on the desktop labeled IT Help Desk Support.

Blackboard Learn Tip - Posting to a Discussion, Blog or Journal
There have been reports from students and faculty that some discussion posts are not displaying correctly or at all after submitting. We have found the culprit is pasting from Microsoft Word. Please have your students avoid pasting from Word. Instead, have them type directly into the Discussion, Blog or Journal tool or paste from a text editor (ie: Notepad). You can also provide your students with this document, How do I Post from a Discussion, Blog or Journal.
