Types of Appeals

The Financial Aid Office strives to provide individual consideration of each student's circumstances to the extent possible.  Students who have special circumstances they would like taken into consideration, (i.e. cost of attendance, change in FAFSA data, dependency status) may submit an appeal to our office for review and consideration by a committee.

The Financial Aid Office will consider the following types of appeals:

1. Cost of Attendance Appeal--The student believes that his/her costs exceed our estimated cost of attendance

2. Special Circumstance or Professional Judgment Appeal - Due to extenuating circumstances the FAFSA is no longer an accurate estimate of the family's ability to provide support.

3. Dependency Appeal -The student seeks to be independent for purposes of evaluating FAFSA data.
