Sunday Maintenance Reminder

Every Sunday from 12am until 12pm all Systems (e-mail, Banner, wireless, etc.) will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.


Weekly Maintenance – Reminder            

Please log off your computer when leaving for the day every Thursday, but do not power it off.  This will allow updates to be sent down to your computer on Friday after 12:00am.  If you turn your computer off and leave it off overnight on Thursday, shortly after turning it back on, your computer will restart in order to install and apply any updates. If you leave your computer logged in Thursday night into Friday, you may lose any unsaved data you were working on when the computer restarts.



Planned System Outage – Friday November 27

On Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, the University will be closed. The Information Technology department has chosen this date to conduct some critical server maintenance because it is the least disruptive to students, faculty, and staff. The outage will take place from 6am until 3pm. Below is a list of key services that will or will not be affected by this scheduled outage.

As Information Technology prepares to move all faculty and staff mailboxes to Hosted Exchange, we need to turn on “Cached Exchange” mode on.  This will provide offline access to your mailbox.  By default 6 months of email will be copied to your local hard drive as a result of this change.


Getting Ready for Winter and Spring

  • Prepping your course:  We have put together a Blackboard Learn “Prepping your Course” information sheet and are offering workshops.
  • Course Merges:Please keep in mind that course merges (combining of Blackboard Learn sections) should be requested before the semester begins.  Please submit your merge request for Winter and Spring terms as soon as possible.


Weatherproofing Your Course

Do the potential for cancellations or delays present a challenge for you?  Have no fear, Blackboard is here!  It can be used to post lectures, assignments or have a discussion during inclement weather.  Come to a session to learn how to accomplish these tasks and take advantage of snow days!
