What do our BA in History students say about the CCSU History Department?

History Students Studying Abroad

“The diverse and talented faculty of the CCSU History Department prepared me for graduate school by instilling a broad sense of global history. Drawing upon scholars of Japan, The Soviet Union, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the United States, I gained an appreciation of the complexity of history, as well as a set of theoretical and methodological skills. Without CCSU's history department, I would not be working on a Ph.D. in History and loving it!"

Jeff Bartos, BA 2011
MA, 2013, Ph.D. Candidate
Montana State University

“My years at CCSU helped me to become more aware of the important roles that the social studies teacher and historian play at all levels in contemporary classrooms.  During my time at Central, the background knowledge that I gained in education as well as history allowed me to develop a unique perspective on my research.  I am grateful to CCSU faculty for introducing me to several different diverse fields of history and helping me to find my niche, while also assisting with the expansion of my professional network so that I would have the opportunities to work toward achieving my career goals.”

Kelly Marino, BA, 2008
Ph.D., Binghamton University-SUNY, 2016

“The faculty gave me the opportunity to learn analytical reasoning, which gave me the tools and confidence to succeed in law school.  I am now a candidate for Juris Doctor ’16.”
