John Mueller has been an adjunct in the CCSU History Department for over 20 years. Thanks to the generosity of the people of Connecticut, he received all of his degrees (B.A., History, 1974; MA, 1981) from the University of Connecticut, and so deeply appreciates their importance. An Americanist, his current interests are the study of war and society and popular culture.
Recent presentations include Gettysburg and Remembrance, Teachers in Popular Culture and Enigma: the Ultra Secret. He also participated in a televised panel discussion about the past and present nature of protest, presented at CT’s Old State House.
His teaching philosophy centers on keeping the past alive through role playing, stressing that nothing is inevitable, merely possible.
