International Education Leadership Opportunities
Unpaid Internships and volunteer opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students. Students with Work-Study are encouraged to also apply. Below is a full list of positions staffed at the Center for International Education (CIE) - to inquire about current or future openings please see the contact information below.
Program Assistant (ISSS)
- Assists in the planning, development, design, implementation and evaluation of intercultural programs and support services to help international students.
- Develops and conducts ISSS programs to support international student success, including orientation programs, and initiates collaboration with university offices and student groups to improve opportunities for student cross-cultural engagement and participation in university life.
- Coordinates processes, develops mechanisms to implement and evaluate programs and international student needs, and make recommendations for improvement to international student services.
- Assists to identify ways to increase international student participation in university support programs, and develop new collaborative programs and initiatives.
- Facilitates focus groups for ISSS to identify areas of need for international students.
- Perform related duties as required.

Immigration Assistant (ISSS)
- Knowledge of basic student immigration situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to multi-task projects in fast paced environment
- Excellent computer, data entry skills
- Perform related duties as required
Program Coordinator (ISSS)
- Corresponds and/or meets with event participants, performers, speakers and attendees regarding registration, food requirements, scheduling, contracts and payment.
- Serves as liaison to Food Service, Student Activities Leadership Development, Student Center, Events Management and the Student Organizations regarding program and event logistics.
- Conducts marketing and recruitment campaign for special programs and the International Events: including mailings, advertising, classroom visits and media awareness.
- Works with other department and student organizations on campus to raise funds for the events
- Solicits participant feedback on special programs and the International Events
- Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
Newsletter Editor (ISSS)
- Responsible for the layout and design of the ISSS newsletter.
- Responsible for overall writing and editing of ISSS Newsletter.
- Research/write articles for the newsletter.
- Write Press releases on international events and activities.
- Manage all ISSS Social Media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram).
- Individual will work closely with Photographic Assistant.
International Student Assistant (ISSS)
- Assist with the planning of educational programs such as Global review.
- Plan and coordinate program logistics such as food, location and media equipment.
- Research potential speakers and program ideas.
- Organize events based on current international events, Global Review, etc
International Student Assistant (ISSS)
- Assist with the planning of socio - cultural programs.
- Plan and coordinate program logistics such as food, location and media equipment.
- Research potential speakers and program ideas.
- Organize International Women's Day, International Education Week, Coffee Hour, etc.
Photographic Assistant (ISSS)
- Assist with the documentation of all International events.
- Artistic ability to create a visually pleasing photograph.
- Retouching and editing photos.
- Attention to detail during a shot.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Photoshop capability.
Graphic Designer (ISSS)
- Assists in the maintenance of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) web page.
- Create posters for all ISSS programs.
- Advertise ISSS programs and events.
- Contact Campus Event announcements/ Marketing.
- Excellent Photoshop and Microsoft Office Skills.
Peer Educator (ISSS)
- Attend Fall and Spring Orientation and Immigration workshops.
- Provide case studies of potential situations to peers
- Present workshops for classes, residence halls and athletic teams.
- Research/develop new workshops.
No experience required. Will train for all positions.
