The U.S.-China Center is currnetly involved in the planning of a China Trade Day, organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and Wesleyan University

This is a great opportunity for small businesses interested in exploring how to export to China. A 90% reimbursement of the registration fee is also available for Connecticut Small Businesses.

Please join the U.S. Commercial Service and Wesleyan University for China Trade Day. This event will educate regional firms about business opportunities in China and provide the opportunity for companies to meet with key industry and government experts from China.

Why China?

China responded quickly to the global economic downturn in 2008, and as a result of a combination of monetary, fiscal, and bank-lending measures, China's GDP grew 9.2 percent in 2009, 10.3 percent in 2010, and 9.2 percent in 2011. GDP in 2012 is expected to grow 7.5 percent, with GDP projections for 2013 not expected to be far off that mark at between 8.3 percent and 8.8 percent.

China's leading industry sectors include: Education and Training, Aviation Market, Consumer Products, Railway and Metro Industry, Medical Device and Healthcare Service Market, Safety Security Market, Marine Industries, Travel and Tourism, Franchising, Air Pollution, ICT Equipment and Software, Green Building and Agricultural Sectors.

At China Trade Day, companies will:
