Graphics Technology

 

Program Description:

The Graphics Technology Curriculum will prepare individuals to enter the rapidly changing field of Graphic Arts Communication. The curriculum focuses on electronic communication as well as ink on paper and toner on paper technology. More specifically our program covers graphic design, photography, press and post-press operations as well as the computer applications and pre-press activities. Analytical mathematics, supplemental computer related courses, business and management courses round out the curriculum. This program will provide a path for high school and community/technical students who are currently enrolled in and interested in expanding their knowledge of electronic and graphic arts communication.

Accreditation

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology program is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), 1390 Eisenhower Place, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, tel. 734-677-0720, (http://atmae.org). ATMAE is a member of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA). This accreditation provides recognition of the attainment of professional goals and standards for Industrial Technology. The curricular pattern is reviewed in terms of stated objectives, content, methods, supporting resources and evaluation systems.

Career Outcomes:

Graduates work as supervisors, estimators, production controllers, customer service representatives, pre-flight specialists, pre-press personnel, internet technologists, plant supervisors, and owners of sign shops. All of our graduates find exciting, challenging positions in the electronic publishing and imaging field.
