Consumer Information: Employment After Graduation
Central Connecticut State University considers state economic and workforce development to be one of its areas of distinctiveness, and as such the university places considerable focus on experiential education, internships, and career exploration as preparation for graduates to enter the workforce. CCSU monitors the employment of graduates after graduation through an alumni survey conducted through the System Office about a year following graduation as well as through participation in a study conducted jointly by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education (DHE) and the Connecticut Department of Labor (DOL).
86.3% - Employment rate of CCSU graduates (2008-09) with a bachelor's degree from survey results*
81.2% - Employment rate in Connecticut of CCSU graduates (2006-07) with a bachelor's degree from DHE/DOL study**
76.9% - Employment rate in Connecticut of CCSU graduates (2006-07) with a graduate degree/certificate from DHE/DOL study**
* 31% of respondents reported pursuing further education on a full-time or part-time basis; a significant proportion of these students were also employed.
**Excludes graduates working in other states, graduates who are self-employed (entrepreneurs), and graduates working for the federal government.
