Homecoming 2009 Roundup
The day dawned gray but that did not deter the nearly 200 alumni who enjoyed a Bloody Mary Brunch in the Alumni Tent in Kaiser Parking Lot. Alumni traveled from across the country to take part in Homecoming 2009. Kathy Palmiotto-Lyons ’87 from Dallas, Texas, joined other residents of Gallaudet 6; Diana Bednar ’73 from Colorado, a member of Iota Kappa Tau sorority, enjoyed the Greek Organizations Reunion; while Bob Skinner ’55, a member of the 1954 undefeated football team, traveled from Key Biscayne, FL to take part in the day's activities. Children of alumni were able to participate in arts and crafts and enjoy inflatables. Alumni who were affiliated with the campus radio station WFCS took over the air waves and reminisced with current student staff at the station and their advisor, Dr. Gil Gigliotti, chairman of the English Department.
The big game kicked off at noon and ended with a victory for Central over in state and NEC rival Sacred Heart. Alumni and fans also witnessed history in the making when Marcus Dorsey's interception and 100-yard return for a touchdown established a school record. Due to the weather the traditional “after party” was moved indoors to Semesters in the Student Center where members of Greek organizations and other affinity groups enjoyed the music of D.Smith and Friends while reminiscing and catching up with each other.

The Homecoming committee has already begun planning for next year so if you have any ideas please contact the alumni office. We always feel that the more alumni we have involved in the planning, the better the event will be. Stay tuned for Homecoming 2010!
