How To Apply for Housing
Once an undergraduate student is accepted into the university they need to apply for housing if they are interested in living in the residence halls. This is mailed approximately two weeks after the university acceptance letter.
Housing is not automatic, or guaranteed upon admission, you must apply
Those admitted to the university early increase their chances of securing a guaranteed spot, provided they return their application and $250.00 deposit; for fall by April 1st, also, that the admissions confirmation deadline for spring is made by May 1st. Spring varies. You do not need to pay the May 1st admissions confirmation fee to be eligible to apply to housing
CCSU has a rolling acceptance process
- The first acceptances are done in October/November
- Once accepted, you are sent a housing application within two weeks of your acceptance
- If you are accepted after the November, you will more than likely be placed on our waiting list
If you miss the early acceptance time-frame and a guaranteed spot, then you will be offered an opportunity to fill out our waiting list application. At this time, the $250.00 deposit is not required until we offer you a room
Upon receipt of the waiting application to our office:
- Your application will be time and date stamped
- Your name will be placed on the on-campus housing waiting list for the next semester
- As spots become available, they will be filled in the order applications are received
- Residence Life will verify that you have a completed the Health Form sent to you by the University Health Service office and that it is on file by July 15 (including meningitis vaccine)
When will I hear if I have made it to the top of the waiting list, and that I will be offered housing?
- Students on the waiting list that are assigned housing are informed as space becomes available (earliest contact will begin in mid-May)
- Once a student is mailed this confirmation they have two weeks to mail it back with $250.00 non refundable deposit
Everything is time and date stamped so we do everything based on receipt of requested documents. If you are placed on our waiting list, you are placed on the list in the order we receive your waiting list application
Availability of space is based on the following:
- The number of students accepted to the University each semester
- The number of returning students who stay or withdrawal from housing
- The number of new incoming students who request housing
Note that all fee balances are due on July 15th for the fall, and December 15th for the spring. For more information about fee click here
