CCSU Points of Pride
CCSU's all-around excellence has been drawing a lot of attention lately--in Connecticut and around the nation. Here are some of the honors, awards, and recognitions the University has recently received:
CCSU honored as a "
Leadership Institution ." As one of only 16 in the nation and the only one in CT, CCSU stands as role model of undergraduate education for the country.
CCSU selected as a "
Great College for the Real World ." The title says it all: the University does an outstanding job of preparing students for exciting, productive lives.
CCSU chosen as one of "
The Best Northeastern Colleges ." Princeton Review interviewed CCSU students and examined the University's key institutional data: results--CCSU praised for "innovative education" and "excellent professors who will help you every step of the way."
CCSU professors are widely recognized leaders in their fields: Professors Timothy Reagan, Heather Munro Prescott and
Felton Best have been selected as distinguished CSU Professors; Professor
Kristine Larsen was honored by the Hartford Courant as a "Great Prof. in CT"; and Professor
Karen Tracey was named "Outstanding Industrial Technology Professor."
CCSU is home to the
Blue Devils! The men's basketball, baseball, and golf teams, and the women's soccer team regularly become Northeastern Conference Champions and earn berths to their NCAA tournaments. And US News ranked CCSU among the top 12 universities in the nation for its commitment to
gender equity in sports .
CCSU has received outstanding support for its academic programs: in national competition, CCSU was awarded a prestigious
$1-million federal grant to fund educational programs to prepare future teachers to use technology. The American Savings Foundation awarded CCSU $1 million to establish a
Chair of Banking and Finance in the University's School of Business. And CCSU's faculty were awarded a record-breaking
$4.1 million in grants to support scholarly research--funds essential to ensuring classroom vitality and a curriculum geared to best practices.
