The role of the Human Studies Council is to facilitate and authorize university sponsored research that respects the welfare and autonomy of human participants. Faculty, students and staff wishing to conduct research projects are asked to complete a New Protocol Submission form (available on the HSC website) and forward it to HSC@ccsu.edu. The Review process takes 1-10 days depending on the completeness of the submission and degree of risk to participants involved. The HSC meets ten times per academic year. Most studies are reviewed outside of committee by expedited procedure via email. The HSC includes representatives from CCSU’s five schools. Members serve 3 to 5 year terms.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Council (IACUC) reviews research involving animals.
