Student Clubs & Organizations

There are several student organizations at CCSU that focus on specific academic subjects or special interests. Membership in these organizations fosters social relationships, develops leadership skills, and provides an essential component to the unique experience that makes up a total university education.

National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Student Chapter

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is a professional organization for music educators. Since 1907, NAfME has worked to ensure that every student in the U.S. has access to balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality music instruction taught by qualified teachers. It encourages the highest standards in music education, and instills awareness of the music educator's important role and responsibility toward enrichment through music education. NAfME provides essential professional development and employment resources. Membership in NAfME is required for all CCSU music education majors. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers who speak about important topics in the field of music education. The chapter is led by student officers and advised by CCSU music education faculty.
