Central offers several programs and services to make attending graduate school easier. Whether you are a parent of young children, a Central alum, or want to make a mid-career change, see how we make pursuing your graduate degree possible
Drop-In Childcare Center
The Drop-In Center provides support to student-parents/guardians for children between 3-12 years-old, while they attend on-campus classes and/or participate in on-campus events during the center’s hours of operation. Parents can attend classes while their children learn through play and receive support in an age-appropriate setting. Come see for yourself why Central’s youngest Blue Devils love their time at the Drop-In.

The Free Course For Central Alumni
Central is proud to support our Connecticut State Universities’ alumni! All students who completed an undergraduate degree at Central, Southern, Eastern, Western or Charter Oak, and then enroll, as a full-time student, in a Central graduate program can take a free summer or winter course.
Eligible students
- Must be earning their first graduate-level degree or certificate
- Cannot receive benefits as a graduate assistant or graduate intern
- Have completed at least one full-time semester of graduate level classes prior to enrolling in their free course
Performance Based Admissions Pathway
Central offers both a traditional and Performance Based Graduate Admissions (PBGA) pathway. The Performance Based pathway is ideal for adult learners, such as mid-career professionals whose experience prepares them for graduate study — even if their earlier academics were in an unrelated field. The PBGA pathway is only offered within select majors and features a streamlined application process. Once accepted, students must enroll in prescribed classes for the first semester. At the end of the first semester, students with a pathway GPA of 3.0 or higher, will be fully matriculated into their graduate program.
