Tourism and Hospitality, B.S.

CCSU's Tourism and Hospitality Studies program is unique in the Northeast. The hospitality industry is today, America's fastest growing industry with over 5% of workforce employed in this service industry. The career positions are numerous, varied, and exciting opportunities in food service, hotels, attractions, and event planning. Many of our THS graduates have entered these fields, and many more are learning about them today!

Hospitality and Tourism involves the business of attracting, transporting, lodging, entertaining and providing food and beverages to people. It is one of the fastest growing segments in Connecticut's economy. This course of study is designed as an interdisciplinary program between the Geography Department in the School of Arts and Sciences and the Marketing Department in the School of Business, leading to a B.S. degree in Hospitality and Tourism.

Transfer and Non-Traditional Students - We welcome both transfer students and non-traditional students returning to school after a hiatus. We generally accept all Tourism/Hospitality-related courses with certain restrictions. Students need to meet with the THS Director regarding transfer issues. Courses outside of this program (e.g., general education courses and business courses) fall under the control of the specific departments and the university. For more information about which courses transfer credit to CCSU, please visit the University's transfer equivalency site by clicking this link.
