Carol Ciotto has been a dedicated educator for thirty three years. For the past eleven years she has been teaching at Central Connecticut State University in the Department of Physical Education and Human Performance (PEHP) and has served as the BSED coordinator for the PEHP department. Prior to CCSU she spent twenty three years in the public school setting serving as an elementary physical education teacher, an assistant principal, and an elementary school principal. Carol has served on the Connecticut Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CTAHPERD) Executive Council as a Vice President for Physical Education and Dance and as the President in 2012-2013. Carol has additionally served as a Data Analysis/Professional Development Consultant for Blue Ribbon Testing, a Professional Development Consultant in Physical Education for CREC – Connecticut Public Schools and is a member of the CT. Cadre of Physical Education Trainers. She is currently serving as the Executive Director for the Eastern District of the Society of Health and Physical Educators of America. Carol has presented at state, regional, national and international level Conferences and has had several publications on various topics. She recently co-authored a book titled PASS: A Guidebook to Creating Physically Active School Systems. Carol has received numerous awards including the CCSU Excellence in Teaching Award – Honor Roll, the EHPS Superintendent's Service Award, two Connecticut Association of Schools Program Awards, the CTAHPERD Elementary Teacher of the Year, Award, the CTAHPERD Outstanding Program Award, the Hershey's National Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards and the CIAC Outstanding Coach of the Year Award. Carol has a true passion for teaching and learning and is committed to continuous service to the field of Education.
