At Campus Recreation, one of our main goals is to give students the resources to achieve physical and mental wellness. Due to our multiple gyms, intramural leagues, and club sport teams, we are able to provide the campus population with the necessary physical activities needed to achieve an aspect of physical wellness.
Nutrition also plays a huge role in physical wellness which is where Sodexo Dining Services are able to assist. Sodexo provides healthy options and helps students organize their meal plans.
From dining halls to quick bites, CCSU provides healthy options every day for students. You can find locations and hours of operation for the semester on Dining Services' website, Sodexo also assists students by creating meal plans and menus with healthy options.
Central Connecticut State University is committed to the development of a safe recreation program by protecting the health and well being of its students, as well as by providing a safe sport environment. Sport Participation involves and inherent risk of injury, an the student must share in the responsibility of prevention through following established safety protocols, communicating and reporting injuries to the recreation department in a timely manner.
Mental Wellness is just as, if not more important than physical wellness. Campus Recreation works closely with both Student Wellness Services and Counseling and Student Development to ensure that students are able to receive help for personal challenges they are facing.
"Student Wellness Services provides mental health, medical, and wellness education services. Integrating these services into a single department in the Division of Student Affairs, Student Wellness Services strives to improve student access to a range of wellness services, enable us to reach out to students needing help, and allow for a collaborative practice that will better meet students' complex needs."
"The counseling center supports students' academic success by assisting them in resolving interpersonal, behavioral, emotional, and other personal challenges. All services are free of cost, confidential, and available to all enrolled full and part-time students."
