Schedule of Events

The Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences (PIASA) in New York will join in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the CCSU Polish Studies Program at the annual World Congress on Polish Studies from June 9 to 11 at CCSU.

The CCSU program is the oldest and best-known Polish Studies institution of its type in North America. The Polish Institute has been the center for Polish academics in this country for decades.

The title of the conference will be “Migrations,” a theme central to the history of New Britain’s large Polish community.

Faculty and students of CCSU may attend cost-free. PIASA participants are expected to pay the conference registration fee of $80, discounted to $40 for students.

In addition to the conference panels, several additional events are being organized. Our traditional pre-conference tour is scheduled for the afternoon and evening of Thursday, June 8, from 3 to 8 p.m. The tour consists of a trip to the New England Air Museum to see the Kosciuszko Squadron exhibition. One must pre-register and pay for the tour. There will also be a reception on Friday, June 9, free to all registered participants. The conference banquet will be held on Saturday, June 10, for which participants are again asked to pre-register and pay a separate fee.
