Degree Programs

The Political Science Department seeks to provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge in American and comparative politics, and with an understanding of the dynamic relationships between political ideas, behavior and institutions. We prepare students to pursue a variety of careers in politics and public service, as well as graduate studies in law, public affairs and political science. We strive to graduate students who will be thoughtful professionals and engaged citizens in their communities.

All three degrees require the completion of 39 credits in the major and the fulfillment of a minor degree program. (See the list of typical accompanying minors here.) Students should discuss with their department advisor which program and minor would best suit their goals and interests.
