Undergraduate Candidates for BSED, Physical Education

If you want to become a Physical Education teacher, CCSU offers PK-12 Physical Education teaching certification program. You obtain a Bachelors of Science in Education (BSED) degree, majoring in Physical Education. After being admitted to CCSU, you are considered a pre-BSED teacher candidate in Physical Education. Students apply to the School of Education and Professional Studies (SEPS) Professional Program to become a BSED teacher candidate in Physical Education.

To apply to the Professional Program, you must meet all the Criteria for Admission to the SEPS Professional Program, as well as the PE Program requirements. The PE Professional Program requirements include:

  • A minimum of 3.00 GPA in Physical Education major courses
  • Successful completion of the following courses: EXS 207, PE 111, PE 299 and EDTE 314, as well as 2 skill courses in the Physical Education major

Professional Program application and supporting material are typically due during the Fall semester (September 10th) or Spring semester (February 10th), http://www.ccsu.edu/seps/teacherPrep/apply.html.

Applications and supporting material must be submitted online using Taskstream. Start your application early to ensure you meet the admission criteria and have all supporting materials in place, use the checklist.
