Construction Management

 

Program Description:

The Construction Management program prepares men and women for management and supervisory professions in the challenging world of construction. The curriculum focuses on field operations, estimating, and project management processes as they relate to building and heavy/highway construction projects. Analytically based mathematics, science and civil engineering technology courses along with business and management courses round out the program. Computer related applications include: Expedition, Primavera Project Planner, Timberline Precision Estimating and Microsoft Office. Laboratory experiences, field trips and student club activities are an integral part of the student's academic experience.

 

Mission:

The Construction Management program’s mission is to prepare students to enter the workforce who are fully qualified and highly sought after, maintain a quality educational program and respond to industry needs.

ACCE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as the accrediting agency for 4-year baccalaureate degree programs in construction. ACCE is the leading advocate of quality construction education programs. The curricular pattern is reviewed in terms of stated objectives, content, methods, supporting resources and evaluation systems.


Career Outcomes:

Entry level positions such as assistant superintendent, project engineer and junior estimator are typical. Graduates soon become project managers, superintendents and chief estimators for construction management firms, general contractors and specialty contractors. Our graduates are highly sought after as a result of their acquired practical knowledge and state of the art computing skills. With this degree, our graduates progress quickly through the professional ranks.
