Each student must complete 6 credit hours in courses designated as “International” (I). International courses carry the designation [I] or "International Requirement" in the university catalog as well as in the course registration booklet published each semester.
A maximum of 8 credits in the Study Area portion, and a maximum of 8 credits in the Skill Area portion of the General Education program may be fulfilled by major or minor courses that are designated as applicable to General Education. However, no course may be counted for two different majors and/or minors except where explicitly stated in the description of one of the majors and/or minors.
First Year Experience classes are required for all students entering CCSU with less than 15 credit hours and are to be taken in the student’s first semester. First-Year Experience courses can be recognized by the section code beginning with 'F'.
A minimum of 30 credits “in residence” is required for a bachelor’s degree. “In residence” means attending classes conducted on campus or under supervision of Central Connecticut State University. Students transferring from any college are required to take at least 15 credits in their major and 9 credits in their minor/concentration field at CCSU. Major and minor/concentration minimums are included in the 30-credit residence requirement. "In residence" means attending classes conducted on campus or under supervision of CCSU.
Programs in the School of Business require that at least 50% of the business credits needed for the business degree be earned and completed at Central Connecticut State University.
In no case will a degree be granted unless a student is matriculated for a minimum of one year at the time of graduation.
