AETNA STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE WAIVER PROCESS 

Please note that this process is not part of your health information requirements.

If you have your own health insurance, please review your coverage carefully to see if it will meet your needs while you are at school. Some policies will cover you only if you see your primary care provider or if you obtain services from a pre-approved list of providers.  If, after reviewing your policy, you feel it adequately covers your needs and you do not want the University-sponsored sickness insurance, you must complete an on-line waiver form through your BlueNet account* from the Student Pipeline.  FULL TIME STUDENTS are automatically billed for the insurance in the Fall of each semester. This fee, which appears on your billing information, is mandatory UNLESS the waiver is submitted online by the first day of classes, August 29, 2012. PART TIME STUDENTS who want to purchase the insurance policy will need to go to the Aetna Student Health website to do so directly www.AetnaStudentHealth.com.

 To waive the insurance or make a change of status:  

CHANGE OF STATUS: 
If you change your
Full-time status to Part-time status at the beginning of a term and want to purchase the Insurance Plan   you will need to contact to AETNA INSURANCE Company by going online to http://www.AetnaStudentHealth.com for sickness insurance available to Part-time students. 

 

 Instructions for Waiving Sickness Insurance:

   

  1. Login to your BlueNet Account, using student BlueNet ID and Password. 

  2. Under your Home page, toward the bottom, click on, "Waive your Sickness Insurance." 

  3. Complete the online form with your current health insurance information and click “Submit”.     

  4. INFORMATION HAS BEEN SAVED” will appear in red above the form.

  5.  PLEASE PRINT A COPY OF THE FORM, INCLUDING THE "INFORMATION HAS BEEN SAVED" MESSAGE, AND SAVE FOR YOUR RECORDS.

  6. Waiver should be applied to your account within 24 hours.
