Center for Multicultural Education > Description & Activities
School leaders in the United States are increasingly faced with the critical requirement to understand and meet the learning needs of diverse students. This mandate means that leaders must know about the cultural backgrounds and experiences of diverse learners in order to design culturally relevant and responsive academic experiences. Under the direction of Penelope Lisi, Ph.D., CCSU's Center for Multicultural Education works towards these ends.
Penelope Lisi, Ph.D., is also the Editor of Multicultural Perspectives: The Official Publication of the National Association for Multicultural Education.
