Mandatory Java Updates – Thursday, April 25th and Friday, April 26th
Information Technology will be upgrading Windows computers in faculty and staff offices to Java version 6.43 over the next two nights after 8:00pm. Please leave your computer powered on, but log off of it, in order to receive the update. This does not require a reboot of the computer, however it will close any open browsers automatically in order to install the update. Departments running ImageNow will receive the update Monday night. After the update, please call the IT Help Desk at x21720 if you are having problems accessing Java-based programs such as Banner Production INB and Hyperion Web Reporting.
Banner 8 Upgrade - Saturday, April 27th
From Saturday, April 27th at 7:00 pm through 12:00pm on Sunday April 28th, all access to Banner systems will be unavailable. This includes WebCentral Banner-Web Services, Internet Native Banner (INB), as well as all third party applications and reporting tools that access the Banner production database. The CentralPipeline for Faculty/Staff and CentralPipeline for Student web pages will be available during the upgrade for access to Blackboard Vista, Blackboard Learn, Outlook Web Mail, Accounts Management and other online systems.
Blackboard Vista Phase-out:
The Instructional Design and Technology Resource Center would like to remind faculty that this is the last semester Vista will be available. Any online, hybrid or web enhanced courses must be in Blackboard Learn starting with the Summer 2013 semester.
Blackboard Learn Training
We are offering Blackboard Learn workshops to help you with the transition. Please visit www.ccsu.edu/Learn to view the schedule and register. Please check back often as sessions will be added throughout the semester.
Two channels have been added to the BLUE TV campus cable line up. The Connecticut Network (CT-N) is the public affairs network for the State of Connecticut and is now available on cable channel 12. Cable channel 86 is now showing the VidNet Bulletin Board system full-time. This is the same background bulletin board shown between programming on CCSU TV 23 and is now available as a full-time channel with campus information. To receive these channels you may need to reprogram your television by auto-scanning for channels under the cable television section of your television menu. Some television models may allow you to simply add the channels via a settings menu without having to rescan the entire line up. Please refer to your manufacturer’s manual for details on programming your television. For questions, please contact email@example.com
