IT Weekly Announcement - January 10, 2013

Current & Scheduled Outages/System Updates  

Campus-wide Electrical Testing – Turn off Computer Equipment Tonight (Thursday, January 10th)

Electrical testing will be conducted on campus on Friday, January 11th from approximately 6:00 am – 7:00 am.  During this time, there will be electrical power fluctuations in all buildings on campus. Please turn off all computers, printers and other equipment at the end of business on Thursday, January 10th to avoid power surges when power is restored. Please contact the Facilities Management Department at x22301 with any questions.

 

Sunday Maintenance

Every Sunday, between 3:00am – 11:00am, all systems will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.

 

Using FrontPage/Extensions?

Effective January 10, 2013 FrontPage Extensions will no longer be supported on University websites.  If you are using FrontPage and/or FrontPage extensions, please contact the IT Help Desk at x21720.

 

Change to Blackboard Learn and Vista Maintenance Window

The maintenance window for Blackboard Learn and Vista is changing to Sunday mornings from 6am – 10am, starting on Sunday January 13th. This maintenance window replaces the Friday evening window. During the maintenance window, these systems will be unavailable.

 

ImageNow/WebNow Outage, February 13st – 14th  

The ImageNow/WebNow system will be unavailable starting Wednesday February 13st at 8:00am until Thursday February 14th  at 5:00pm for a version upgrade from 6.6x to 6.7x. Please plan accordingly for this downtime.

It’s essential that everyone run this software on their local hard drives, netshares, e-mail and more. For information and instructions, visit the Identiy Finder web site at www.ccsu.edu/idfinder. Please note thaqt the Identity finder for Mac instructions have been updated to ensure that Microsoft Outlook configured e-mail is scanned properly.
