Bimodal Bilingual Language Development

Bimodal bilinguals are users of 2 languages in different modalities: a sign language and a spoken language.  They acquire and use the sign language with their Deaf family and friends, and the spoken language with hearing people in the community at large.  We have been studying language development in bimodal bilingual children to address general questions about bilingualism, including how the languages of a bilingual interact.
