Dr. Dov Shinar discusses Conflict, War and Peace at CCSU

Professor Dov Shinar, PhD., is Dean of the School of Communication and Head of Fair Media: Center for the Study of Conflict, War and Peace Coverage, at Netanya Academic College in Israel. Dr. Shinar has an extremely decorated academic record with a PhD. and a Masters in Communications as well as Bachelors in Sociology, and Political Science. Dr. Shinar is highly qualified to discuss Peace Journalism as well as the Contradictions and Dilemmas in Media Coverage of Conflict.

Dr. Shinar will be discussing media coverage of conflicts, examining how media reports shape our view of conflicts and the predominance of violence in media coverage. This field involves methods for correcting this bias by creating journalism in mainstream and alternative media, and working with journalists, media professionals, audiences, and organizations in conflict.
