VALUE Rubrics (AAC&U)
The Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) project sponsored by the Association of American Colleges and Universities constructed and tested rubrics based on materials collected from dozens of campuses nationwide. These rubrics may be used in their entirety or may be adapted to specific needs. They are good starting points for the assessment of general education as well as the articulation of general education outcomes. Rubrics are available in the areas of Inquiry and analysis, Critical thinking, Creative thinking, Written communication, Oral communication, Reading, Quantitative literacy, Information literacy, Teamwork, Problem solving, Intercultural knowledge and competence, Ethical reasoning, Foundations and skills for lifelong learning, Integrative learning.
National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA)
NILOA was established in 2008 to assist institutions and others in discovering and adopting promising practices in the assessment of college student learning outcomes. NILOA’s primary objective is to discover and disseminate ways that academic programs and institutions can productively use assessment data internally to inform and strengthen undergraduate education, and externally to communicate with policy makers, families and other stakeholders.
