IT Self-Help: Remote Application Server
What is the Remote Application Server?
The remote application server allows you to access Windows-based applications from any computer (Windows or Mac) or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with an Internet connection. You can access software programs stored on the Remote Application Server without the hassle or expense of installing them on your home computer (see below for the list of available applications).
Faculty and Staff: Remote Desktop via the Remote Application Server must be requested using the online Remote Access Opt-in Form. Access to Banner INB, Hyperion Workspace, and WebNow is via the Secure Enclave. To use the Secure Enclave from off-campus, you must request Remote Access to your campus computer.
How do I use the Remote Application Server?
Citrix Web Application
We recommend that you use the web-based version of Citrix. To access the web application, open your web browser and navigate to https://apps.ccsu.edu, and then log in with your BlueNet username and password. To open an application, first open a folder (Academic Applications, Administrative Applications, or Public Applications) and then click on the application icon.
You may also use the Citrix Receiver application to access the remote application server. When you open the Citrix Receiver application for the first time, you will be prompted to set it up to connect to the CCSU server. At the prompt, enter your CCSU email address (faculty/staff) or https://apps.ccssu.edu (students). When you are prompted to log in, enter your BlueNet username and password.
To open applications, click on the folder then application you wish to access. To create Favorites, click on the Details link next to the application icon then click on Add to Favorites.
What Programs are accessible through the Remote Application Server?
Note: Depending upon your BlueNet Account, you may see a slightly different set of programs and options than represented on this list. If you require access to something listed here and do not have it, please call the IT Help Desk to request access.
