The Student Technology Center, located in Marcus White, Room 100, is the main general purpose computer lab on campus for students, faculty, and staff. The STC has over 200 computers, a mix of Dell PCs and Apple Macintosh computers. The STC offers B&W and color printing, scanners, and access to the campus wireless network. 

Students have access to a variety of software on the PCs and Macs. Click on the links below to see the software lists. The special software list includes applications that are available in limited areas of the STC or may not always be available from semester to semester.

All students must check-in when entering the STC. Student ID's are the recommended way to check-in. Student ID's are required to print.

Students are charged for printing but are given a $10 print credit every month.

Thanksgiving Break Hours in the STC

Wednesday, November 27 through Saturday, November 30: CLOSED
Sunday, December 1: Open with reduced hours: 5:00pm - 10:00pm

Reserving PC Classroom (Room 102) in the STC (Faculty and Staff Only)

There is a computer classroom set up in the STC for faculty and training use. The PC Classroom contains 30 student Dell PCs and has a teaching station with projector and screen. Faculty members may reserve this room for classes a few times during the semester to show their students how to use software, do research on the Internet, give exams, etc.  Staff may also reserve it for training purposes.

Reserving Group Study Spaces in the STC with our New Online System

There are 4 student group study spaces available in the STC. Students can reserve a room with a large monitor, table and lots of chairs to work on group projects. One-on-One Software Application Training is now Available

Do you want or need to learn how to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, SPSS, Photoshop, etc.?  Some of our experienced STC Staff members are available to help you with this.  Click on the link below to see flyer which lists the Staff names, email addresses, and the software they can help you with.  It is best to contact the Staff member directly to explain your needs and arrange a date and time.  If you are looking for a software application not listed, send an email to lisa.washko@ccsu.edu.
