Professor Frank Speck and the Native Peoples of Southern New England, 1897-1950: activist anthropologist or adversary?
History and Anthropology are co-sponsoring a discussion by Dr. Ann Marie Plane from University of California-Santa Barbara.
Dr. Plane will discuss Frank Speck, the American anthropologist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Speck who specialized in the Algonquian and Iroquoian peoples among the Eastern Woodland Native Americans of the United States, and First Nations peoples of eastern boreal Canada.
