Award Criteria

Outstanding School Leader:

The Outstanding School Leader award recognizes a graduate who hold an 092 or 093 certificate. The Outstanding School Leader is an exemplary school professional who has succeeded in providing high quality learning opportunities for students. The selection is made on the basis of leadership skills, a commitment to staff and students, service to communities, and contributions to the overall profession of educational leadership.

Outstanding Teacher:

The Outstanding Teacher Award recognizes a pre-°©‐K through 12th grade teacher from any content area. The selection is made on the basis of overall excellence in teaching methodologies, knowledge of the subject matter and the impact on student learning.

Outstanding Literacy Professional:

The Outstanding Literacy Professional award recognizes literacy leaders providing services to our communities. The selection is made on the basis of overall excellence in promoting and enhancing quality instruction in reading and language arts.

Outstanding Nursing Professional:

The Outstanding Nursing Professional award recognizes a nursing professional. The selection is based on exceptional service to the field of nursing, a passion for the practice of nursing, and advancing the profession.

Outstanding SocialWorker:

The Outstanding Social Worker award recognizes a graduate of the program who exhibits exemplary dedication to the field of social work. The selection is based on outstanding service in his or her chosen specialization and exceptional contributions to the profession.

Outstanding Counselor:

The Outstanding Counselor award recognizes a graduate of the program who exhibits exemplary dedication to the field of counseling. The selection is based on outstanding service in his or her chosen specialization and exceptional contributions to the profession.

Outstanding HumanPerformance Professional:

The Outstanding Human Performance Professional award recognizes a graduate of the Athletic Training or the Exercise Science program. The selection is based on outstanding service in his or her chosen specialization and exceptional contributions to the profession.

Outstanding Young Professional:

The Outstanding Young Professional award recognizes a rising star from theSchool of Education and Professional Studies with fewer than 3 years of professional experience. The selection is based on exceptional professional and personal achievement and extraordinary distinction in his or her profession.

Outstanding Community Partner:

The Outstanding Community Partner award recognizes a school, agency, or organization for their ongoing contributions to the mission and vision of the School of Education and Professional Studies. The selection is based on an exceptional shared commitment to educating our students for meaningful service to our communities.
