Recommendation for Certification
Recommendation for certification occurs when
- Students have completed courses of 30 credits required in the program with a grade of B or better
- Successfully passed the qualifying examination (CAT)
- Satisfactorily completed the internship and passed the internship portfolio
- Connecticut certification requires a course in special education that addresses exceptionalities (included giftedness) and inclusion
- For people who earned initial certification out of state, Praxis I (a test of basic skills) is also required before the recommendation
