Elihu Burritt Library Updates

  •  The Burritt Library is now minimally staffed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Faculty members who need physical books from the library collection should send an email to Materials will be pulled from the stacks twice a day. Books pulled in the morning will be available for pick-up that afternoon. Books pulled in the afternoon will be available for pick-up the next open morning. Pick-up hours will be at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the days the library is open. Materials will be checked out to faculty before they are packaged up. They will then be placed on a table outside the library, to the left of the front door with the faculty member's name and pick-up date displayed on the package. Any materials that are not picked up will be taken back in before closing and will not be put outside again until the faculty member contacts the library to set up an alternate pick-up date and time.

  • The library also will make available incoming ILL and consortia materials that may have arrived since March. Currently, the ordering of physical materials through ILL or the consortia is closed.
  • Global renewals for materials due after March 1 have been pushed forward to September 1 for all CCSU materials. Fines from billed materials prior to March 1 will not be waived.
  • Consortia loans: Materials from our sister universities and community colleges will be renewed by the lending library. These loans do not incur overdue fines. If you need us to ask for a renewal, email us
