On-Campus Conversational Chinese 1, 2, 3, 4

 

Classes (20 sessions for each level) are held at Confucius Institute of the Library, Room 408, CCSU. Come join us to experience Chinese culture, learn Chinese expressions and get prepared for the Chinese market while enjoying Chinese snacks, tea, hands-on activities, martial arts and so much more. After signing up for classes, you are cordially invited to all the cultural events hosted by CI, like CI Open House, CI Day Celebration, Chinese New Year Gala Show, just to name a few.

Conversational Chinese 1 (Mondays and Wednesdays 3:05-4:05 pm)

This is a non-credit conversational Chinese course designed for students who desire to know basic Chinese phonetics, numbers, basic characters and daily expressions. Pinyin and simplified characters are used. Accurate pronunciation, tones, and grammatical expressions are the main focuses for this semester. Students will also be exposed to some cultural aspects such as hand gestures, tea, Chinese cuisines and snacks and so on.

Conversational Chinese 2 (Mondays and Wednesdays 12:30-1:30 pm)

This is a non-credit conversational Chinese course designed for students who want to continue developing their skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will expand their listening and speaking ability in handling everyday situations. More culture and etiquette are introduced with the lessons.

Conversational Chinese 3 (Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00-3:00 pm)

This is a non-credit conversational Chinese course designed for students who want to further develop their communicative competence in listening and speaking. At the end of this course, students are expected to be able to understand and produce fluent speeches on various topics related to their daily life.

Conversational Chinese (Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00 am-12:00 pm)

This course is a non-credit advanced conversational Chinese course. At the end of this course, students are expected to be able to understand and carry out daily conversations, give oral presentations and speeches on various topics and have a better understanding of authentic Chinese culture.
